Episode One: NNENNA

"Why is your face this swollen?" Nnnena's mom asked as she dropped the broom she was holding and walked towards her daughter.

"It's like you have been crying for a long time" she said taking a closer look at her daughter who immediately hid her face.

"I've told you before stepping out na. Is that why you are crying?"

"No" Nnnena replied as she wiped her teary eyes with the edge of her dress.

"Okay, sorry. Let's go inside"

"You Warned me, Nmnpmb I Wished I Had Listened to You 😢"

She said and broke into another round of tears .

"Look Nnenna, I an barely hear what you are saying.Try to calm down. I would have chosen to discuss this later but from the look of things, it's better we talk about whatever is bothering you now."

She said placing a hand on her shoulder.

Nnnena sniffed back the tears which was now blinding her sight and looked deep into her mother's eyes.

"You remember last week, I told you someone sent me a message on whatapp concerning an online investments..."

"Yes! Yes I Do"

Her mom was now getting impatient and needed to know whatever was bothering her daughter that much.

"I thought we already concluded why bringing this up again?" she asked her daughter.

"I ask Ben yesterday on my way back from work and he showed me his new phone.He then told me that he saw a similar post and decided to take the rust with his money and he was paid double within two days 😔"

"So finally what happened?"

The mother asked skeptically. Afraid to hear what will come next.

"I.. I.. nmmn.. I used the money you ask me to keep in the morning. That was to be used as payment for the office space at Choba, close to Uniport Gate. An...and Invested it in the Platform..."

Beads of perspiration were now visible on her mother's face, as she waited with open ears to hear the worst.

She explained with a quivering lip and threw her hands above her head.

Her Mother Screamed and Slumped to the Ground.
