Lionel Messi has been named The Best

FIFA Men's Player for 2023, successfully defending the title he won in 2022. The Argentina captain's exceptional performance from December 19, 2022, to August 20, 2023, earned him this prestigious accolade. Despite stiff competition from finalists Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, Messi emerged as the winner at The Best FIFA Football Awards™ ceremony in London.

This victory marks Messi's eighth individual award, as he secured top honors in a closely contested poll that involved national team coaches, captains, journalists, and supporters worldwide. The 36-year-old maestro, who has previously won the award in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2019, continues to solidify his legacy as one of the all-time greats of the sport.

During his tenure at PSG, Messi's remarkable contributions included leading them to another Ligue 1 title and topping the assist charts. His outstanding performance earned him a place in the Ligue 1 Team of the Season. After his successful run in France, Messi moved on to begin a new chapter of his career with Inter Miami, continuing to make his mark on the global stage.
