A recently released trailer for the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake on Nintendo Switch provides insights into the game's level count, new worlds, and additional features. The announcement of the remake surprised fans, reintroducing the classic GBA title where Donkey Kong absconds with Mini-Mario toys, requiring players to guide Mario through challenging platforming puzzles.

The remake introduces several features to appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers. Notably, a new local co-op mode allows players to team up, with one controlling Mario and the other commanding Toad. The trailer delves into these features and the expanded content designed to build upon the original game.

The Mario vs. Donkey Kong trailer reveals a total of 130 levels in the remake, a significant increase from the original's 90 levels and 12 expert stages. The classic game featured six distinct world themes, including two boss stage-only levels against Donkey Kong. The additional levels in the remake come in the form of two new world themes: Slippery Summit, an icy cave, and Merry Mini-Land, a circus fairground. Each world introduces unique challenges such as slippery ground, icicle spikes, and directional flower gusts.

Moreover, the remake includes unlockable expert levels, designed to test players' skills after achieving a certain number of Perfect rating stars. The trailer confirms 16 expert levels will be available in the remake.

Additional features highlighted in the trailer and on Nintendo's official store page include a "casual" mode, allowing players to continue after hitting an obstacle without losing a life. Instead, they respawn at a checkpoint via a bubble, akin to the New Super Mario Bros. series. Players can withstand up to five additional hits before losing a life, while those seeking a traditional experience can opt for the "classic" mode.
