Soap and education are not as sudden as a massacre, but they are more deadly in the long run. (Mark Twain)
I hate Japanese schools. I hate Japanese schools because I hate teachers. I have a degree in education.
I had made up my mind that I would never become a teacher.
I have always been uncomfortable with Japanese schools. I had always been uncomfortable with Japanese schools, but when I had the opportunity to teach in an American junior high school, I realized what that discomfort really was.
It all boils down to one thing: coercion. This is what it all comes down to. In American junior high schools, there was freedom. No uniforms, no club activities rule, no shoes rule, no hairstyle rule, no bag rule, no makeup rule. So, we could go home at 2:30 p.m., and we were free to do whatever we wanted.
It is in this kind of country that GAAFA was born. In Japan, people are bound by "no such thing is allowed," "this is compulsory," and "there is no such freedom.
If you don't like it, leave!
So, the best and brightest brains are leaving the country.
Soap and education are genocide" will be achieved over time. As evidence, Japan has been on the decline for the past 30 years.
