Ondel-ondel is part of the betawi tradition. The wooden doll even became an icon of Jakarta. The existence of ondel-ondel is famous as a bala repellent doll since long ago. The presence of ondel-ondel is considered sacred, only presented if Jakarta is attacked by an outbreak.
