There is no better way to honour a sports legend than to erect a monument - a permanent tribute that captures their greatest moment or enduring impact.

Bobby Moore's monument outside Wembley Stadium is great, as is Sir Tom Finney's outside Deepdale in Preston, but it's far more hilarious when they're utterly crap.

Sergio Aguero

Manchester City presented a new statue last week to commemorate Sergio Aguero and his 93rd-minute title-clinching goal against QPR in 2012. Fans were underwhelmed by the touching homage, considering the Argentine striker's early retirement last year.

Some felt it resembled Real Madrid player Toni Kroos, while others thought he was singing in the shower while cleaning his back with a loofah from certain angles. Despite the jokes, it's not a total ugly... in contrast to the others on this list.

Salah

Where to start? It resembles a bobble-head dashboard and a Diana Ross-inspired sponge.

Everything's absurd. Salah's head is 16 times larger than his body, and the sculptor gave him a huge Adam's apple.

Others believe he resembles Gail Platt or Dobby from Harry Potter. Which one does salah prefer.

Bale
