ONITSHA, Nigeria — At the All Saints Cathedral Field in Onitsha, on December 16, 2023, a gathering of political figures and supporters marked a pivotal moment for Anambra's future.

The Save Nigeria Coalition Grand Reception and Homecoming, honouring Labour Party-elected officials in the 2023 general elections, turned into a rallying cry for change, led by Valentine Ozigbo, the 2021 Anambra Gubernatorial Candidate who is one of Nigeria's most recognisable philanthropists.

The event, which celebrated the Labour Party's substantial victories in the Anambra North Senatorial District, highlighted unity, oneness, and a shared purpose as the key drivers behind the party's success.

Stakeholders unanimously agreed that these factors were instrumental in the Labour Party's impressive performance in the region.

Mr. Ozigbo, recognised as a staunch ally of the senatorial zone, commended the Labour Party's leadership for their efforts and victories. He described the "Obidient" movement as a timely miracle, heralding a new era of political engagement and transformation in Nigeria.

"This gathering is a testament to our collective resolve to rescue Anambra and Nigeria," said Ozigbo. "The recent appellate victory of our brother, Afam Ogene, for the Ogbaru federal constituency, underscores our momentum and the urgent need for change."

Ozigbo emphasized the importance of continued dedication and support for Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate in the 2023 election.

"Peter Obi represents hope for national revival and healing. His leadership, coupled with the vision of a gubernatorial Anambra under my stewardship, forms the foundation of our dream for a transformed Nigeria," Ozigbo, a multiple-award-winning global CEO, stated.

The event, chaired by Chief Okwudili Otti, CEO of Caltech Group, saw Prof. Patrick Obi representing Mr. Peter Obi. It drew a significant presence of Labour Party stalwarts and political office holders, including Senator Tony Nwoye, who is representing the Anambra North senatorial zone.

The 2023 general elections marked a significant shift in Anambra North, with the Labour Party winning the majority of federal legislative seats and several state assembly positions, covering seven local government areas.

This change reflects a growing desire for new leadership and direction in Anambra State and Nigeria at large.
