This is a sad poem on war inspired by the Ukraine and Russian war.

The Child's Cry: A Poem on the Tragedy of War"

The Child's Cry: A Poem on the Tragedy of War"

Amidst the strife, we hear gunshots each day,

And bombs that sound like thunder in a way.

Our streams are now filled with blood, not water,

And children's cries have replaced sounds of laughter.

No more do we recall how it feels to smile,

For sadness has consumed us all the while.

Newborns arrive to witness our agony,

And violence now reigns in our society.

Children have become orphans, mothers, widows,

The elderly left homeless, fathers, heroes.

They fight to preserve their motherland's peace,

In the midst of war, all good things cease.

Each day we live in fear of our last breath,

As countless souls are lost to violent death.

If I die young, let the next gen be told,

To avoid following in our footsteps so bold.

For in war, regardless of who might win,

Lives are still lost in vain, buried therein.

All the dreams we once held so dear,

Are buried alongside ruins of the war, clear.

Rest in peace to all those gone too soon,

Forever remembered under the same moon.

Wars bring us no good, let's end them now,

And with unity, to lasting peace let us bow.

I dedicate this poem to those who fought,

And lost their lives in battles they sought.

May your souls rest in eternal peace,

And your memory forever.
