Minutes ago, she was sitting
Right beside me laughing.
I remember it all.
She never missed a chance
When back home
To bring her head for me to kiss
I thought all days would be the same,
And I wouldn't have to stare
At her lying in a box.
I want to cry out loud,
So that the whole world my pain can behold.
But my throat won't let me.
I'm drowning in thoughts so wild
That I feel life has me defiled.
Many are privileged to say farewell,
But I was away when she breathed her last.
Confused and still in shock.
Not knowing what to do when I'm home, back.
All I think of is pick my jacket and leave,
Away from everyone and everything reminding me of her.
