ISRO’s Aditya-L1 mission reveals first-ever full-disk images of the sun in near-UV wavelengths

The sun's complete disk is seen for the first time at near-UV wavelengths thanks to ISRO's Aditya-L1 mission.

India's first solar mission, Aditya L-1, successfully lifted off three months ago, and a month later it managed to escape the planet's gravitational pull. The mission has now successfully produced the first-ever near ultraviolet full-disk photographs of the Sun, according to ISRO. When Aditya L-1 launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, it carried seven different payloads into orbit. On December 6, 2023, the telescope reached a major milestone by taking its first light scientific images, capping an extensive pre-commissioning phase.

An important part of ISRO's Aditya-L1 mission, the Solar Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT) instrument has proven to be a technological wonder by taking detailed
