  Title: Would not recommend.

  Review: The first part of the book was helpful in breaking down what the test is about. It had common mistakes, strategies, etc. and it helped me feel less stressed about actually sitting down to take the exam. However -- for all the benefits of the strategies portion, the practice tests weren't at all similar to the real thing. I did all of the practice tests and I was consistently getting the questions correct so I felt comfortable with the content and format of the questions. When I actually sat down for the MPRE the questions that were on it were completely different than those given in this book's practice tests. I spent a lot of time on the tests in this book and my feeling is that it was mostly wasted because the questions didn't reflect the style or content of the questions on the MPRE.
  
  This book was costly which wasn't ideal but even if it wasn't so expensive I wouldn't recommend it.

  Title: Buy it for the practice questions

  Review: Do you practice law on Petticoat Junction or The Andy Griffith Show? Are you constantly plagued by ethical dilemmas like which checking account to use when the local banker prepays his legal fees for the entire year? Or what to do when Andy asks you to represent him in a will contest against Aunt Bee's will, which you happened to have both drafted and witnessed (the other witness now being dead)?
  
  If so, then you probably don't need this book because the fact patterns on the MPRE will look very familiar to you.
  
  But if you live in the 21st century, then you need the practice questions in this book in order to become familiar with the 1960s sitcom universe of the MPRE. It's not enough the read the ABA model rules. You need to learn which contrived fact pattern points to which rule (which the MPRE does seem to be pretty consistent about). This book has lots of questions to help you do that.
  
  The first part of the book about how the MPRE writers select statistically valid questions was mildly interesting but not helpful for answering the questions. I'd recommend skipping straight to the practice questions.
  
  Also the book says it includes all the questions from NCBE Online Practice Tests 1 and 2, so you probably don't need to pay NCBE any more money for those.

  Title: Okay book but better MPRE resources out there

  Review: This is an okay review book for practice questions and MPRE strategies. It is not (and to its credit it doesn’t promise to be) a primer on the underlying rules and how to apply them. And that’s its biggest shortcoming, because you’ll need another review course to prepare adequately for the MPRE. I would skip this book, which I only spent a few days using, and use BarBri’s free online course. I spent about two weeks studying the BarBri outlines and taking their practice questions and scored a 145. I probably over prepared and think that a week would have been enough with BarBri’s course. This book is fine but I don’t think its necessary or worth the money.

  Title: Top Notch For MPRE Preparation.

  Review: A-1. 60 explained questions and then 3 separate MPRE 60 question "practice" exams with answers and explanations. Great for acclimation to testing under the two hour format.
  Read each and every question and answer explanation and you should be in excellent shape for the MPRE. One must still read the Model Rules for Professional Responsibility and The Model Code for Judicial Conduct .....but having read those....and plowing through 200+ questions demonstrating a ton of concepts .... you don't need much else.

  Review: Like the other Emanuel’s products I had used during law school, this is a good source. I had not taken my professional responsibility class for a few years before I took the bar exam so I was worried. California required, I think, an 86 to pass and about 40% of test takers fail the CA MPRE. I used this book as my primary MPRE prep, went through it twice, and did really well getting a 110 on the CA MPRE; way above what I needed to pass.

  Review: This book was advertised at $27.32 in GOOD condition. The price of a new book would have been $32.92. So, I opted for what was supposed to be "good". What I received was a book that was marked up on every single page. Not a few pages. But, literally every one of 333 pages. It is of ZERO value to me. The prior owner has marked selected answers, made corrected answers, highlighted, scratched out etc. I will be returning this and ordering a NEW copy. P.S. When someone marks up a study guide to this extent, it should remain in their private library. It is not suitable for resale in this condition, especially under an inaccurate representation that the condition is "good", when it certainly is not.

  Review: The first two practice exams are the exact questions as the old exam questions you buy for $40 each on LSAC.org. I bought two of those exams and then this book and realized they were the same questions--granted, i had peace of mind, but it was a waste of money. This book was all I needed as the explanations are way better than Barbri's.

  Title: Mediocre study guide

  Review: Did not adequately prepare me for the MPRE. There was a lot in the November 2019 exam that was not covered in this book. That said, some of the MPRE questions were almost verbatim from the book. This book goes into great detail explaining the right and wrong answers. If you buy this book I suggest buying a supplemental aid.
