Title: Great refresher, or introduction for beginners/hobbyists

Review: On top of providing tons of free tutorials and tips on their youtube channel, Fusion 360's tutorial books are the most reasonably priced for what you get out of them. I picked this up just to further what I'd learned in a CAD class, and see if there's anything we skipped over. It provides a good introductory explanation of the workspace, and provides several easy to work through examples to get you comfortable enough to do basic designs on your own.

My only complaint is that I wish it included an intro to surface modeling and sculpting as well. There are shapes you can create using those methods that you can't using just the "Solid" design section and it would've saved me hours of frustration knowing that!

Title: Great Book and the Only Current Resource

Review: This is a very well written basic textbook for the latest version of Fusion 360. A complete novice can easily follow this book from start to finish and gain a thorough knowledge of Fusion 360 and part modeling. Even more amazing is, at this time, this is the only current documentation/instruction/resource available on the latest version Fusion 360. Autodesk did a major update to the software in 2018-19 but they failed to produce updated documentation and tutorials. They just made a woefully inadequate five minute video highlighting some of the changes. All of the other books and tutorials out there did the same - they just slapped a quick summary onto their old material. Props to the creators of this book for making a new course based entirely on the latest version.
Note: As one reviewer stated, the book I received is not in color. Still, it is easy to follow, very thorough and the only training available for this version.

The only suggestion I would have to make this better would be to have a solution to each exercise available somewhere. Even a completed drawing that the reader could pick apart and see if they are on the right track would be very helpful. As the exercises get more difficult, even if I figured out how to do them, I sometimes suspected there was a better way.

Title: Not high quality print and content is not well explained

Review: The book that ships is not the same as the preview. The preview shows color pages, but the book you get is poor quality black and white. Many of the examples tell you to draw an object as shown in the picture, but the text quality is so poor that it's hard to read the dimension values.

As the book goes through a description of each tool it will say what the tool is but not why or how you might want to use it. Some are obvious but you're left figuring out the more advanced tools yourself. I like how the examples walk you step-by-step through the creation process but you're on your own when it comes to the exercises. No solution is provided to the exercises. Some exercises are too advanced (yes, I'm talking to you Chapter 3, Exercise 1) and nearly impossible to complete with the content up to that point.

Finally, the book offers reference materials if you send them an email. You receive an autoreply with links to the reference material (but not the exercises!). There is about one link per chapter and the book has 11 chapters. Every link takes you to a page FULL of advertisements and when you click to download the Zip file it opens up another page of ads.

The book is not terrible but it is not great. I would not buy it again or recommend it.

Review: Like many I am sure, I forged into Fusion 360 with a mix of YouTube videos and "try this, then try this..." But at some point going back and reading a well organized text has the advantage of back filling in a lot of holes. This book provides that back filling. I have gotten a good deal from chapters 1 - 5. Chapters after these will get read as my needs carry me mw beyond what I am doing now.

Mine was very current with the version of Fusion 360 that I had. I've certainly gotten far more than my money's worth in time saved. Review: I had never used Fusion or any other cad program except for tinkercad. I have already bought another copy for my students. The picture, if it is shown, is my first project designed with Fusion with the knowledge from this book. There a very few typos, and only two of the exercises were too difficult to complete. Each chapter has hand-holding examples followed by exercises. If they brought out a "Next-Level" follow-up book, I'd buy it in a minute.

Review: It appears that they used gray and white computer screen shots of the program and they are of a very poor quality (fine line/lack of color in the rendering). It is very hard to tell what they are trying to associate with each screen shot. Note: The “look inside” pages show’s the screen shots tool bar icons with color, and the lines/fonts are darker, not what you get. I would not recommend it.
