Governor's Cup: Members of the C'River Assembly Defeat State Party Executive

Defying the State Executives of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the Governor's Cup, the Cross River State House of Assembly Members won 2-0. The game demonstrated the assembly members' athletic prowess as well as their unity and friendship within Cross River State's political system.

Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem expressed his happiness for the team's accomplishments. Speaking about the triumph, he said that the Assembly Members' intense training in the days preceding the game was what made them successful. Beyond the sporting event, Speaker Ayambem emphasized the significance of the occasion in fostering unity between the legislative and executive branches of government.

“This victory is not just about the carnival; it's about keeping fit and uniting the legislature and the executive as essential arms of government,” declared Speaker Ayambem. The match served as a platform not only for healthy competition, but also for building bridges between key branches of the state's governance.

Acknowledging the efforts invested in organizing the Governor's Cup, Speaker Ayambem extended gratitude to Governor Sen. Prince Bassey Otu. He praised the governor for reinstating the Governor's Cup, highlighting its dual purpose of scouting for young talent and promoting overall well-being among the populace.
