Review: I enjoyed the original twist on classic creatures and their culture and that alone is what made me finish this book. Diving into someone else's imagination is, after all, what I enjoy most about reading.The terrible grammar, spelling and sentence structure was incredibly distracting. I was editing in my head the whole time. There was also a lack of creativity with adjectives. The same descriptive phrases were used repeatedly. So much so, I started skipping paragraphs that all sounded the same. I was surprised to read the thank you to the editor at the end. The sentence structure sounded like someone translating from another language, putting the words in an odd order.I do think if the author can brush up on her mechanics and find a good editor, there is potential for good writing from her. This book missed that mark for me.I gave two stars solely on originality of ideas.

Review: I tried to stick with it. I made it about 50 percent of the way through with a lot of skimming and playing guessing games about what the next ridiculous thing would be to get in the way of the main couple. But I finally couldn’t take it any more.The most entertaining thing about this book is its own terribleness. The entire plot is driven by people being stupid and making extremely illogical decisions and not communicating. Each event that interfered with their relationship seemed to be more outrageous and illogical than the last. I will give a couple of examples:(Some spoilers ahead)Even after she knows she is some fated mate of a Lycan (the book tried to make the case that lycans don’t have fated mates, but uh, when you get right down the basic definition - someone you are meant to be with - they are fated mates) she just continued on with the drama with the alpha’s son as if one thing had absolutely no bearing on the other. So much drama could have been avoided if she had just told her parents or the alpha or someone.Then everything under the sun starts getting in the way of him marking her. I mean everything. And they let it, as if someone knocking on their door is some unstoppable force they must obey. Go in the woods. Get a hotel room. There are a lot of ways to avoid stupid interruptions.The thing that made me stop reading was when she decided to randomly tell Constantine that she was in love with someone else because she was mad at him for defending his lying, scheming female friend. That level of ridiculous was too much even for me, and I am entertained by ridiculous things. Why would she even do that? She knows the other girl is a liar and schemer, she just had someone plainly lay everything out for her just the scene before, she just spent at least several chapters at odds with Constantine because she is aware of how dishonest Milan and he isn’t, and still she decides to believe the liar and burn everything down. TSTL feels like an understatement.This book make daytime soap operas seem calm and rational.

Review: Update: I just re-read this book - its been a few months and I was just in a rut with new stuff. This second time around, I was just as engaged and entertained as I was originally. I really hope that that Nicole writes a book for Caspian and Penny. Maybe Hunter and Autumn, too!All the same things that made me love it the first time still ring true - its witty, sexy, funny and has an innate goodness to the story - its a little dirty towards the latter part of the book but its fun. I think Genesis' overall goodness and Costa's commitment to her really make it so you want them to succeed. Lots of moments where you hold you breath to see what happens next!I still highly recommend!*************************************I really loved this book. I was glued to the page until the end. Great plot, developed characters. Witty dialogue and sexy without being trashy.Really loved the main character and her real* mate. Characters so believable, I found myself rooting for them the whole time.Highly recommend!

Review: Did anyone else find this ridiculous? Every time the h& H get close to having sex & marking some random thing happens to stop it. This wouldn't be a big deal few times but multiples became so stupid, I gave up. I should have known that @ 40% it was too close to a conclusion to their mating but the angst from her rejection from the future alpha was bad enough. Now she seems to have more unresolved nonsense that doesn't make sense this far into their relationship. He leaves her unprotected, without a mark, without a claiming? Hundreds of years old & fumbles around like a novice making poor judgements & plans for keeping his new mate safe & his? This is unbelievable.

Review: This is definitely a YA romance and it is set in the last year of high school.3.75 starsI did like this book and it was an interesting take on a mate rejection genre. Logan reject and disrespected his fated mate, Genesis, but she didn’t let that kill her. It was so cruel all the things she had to feel and face do to Logan’s cruelty, but with her friends to help her she was never alone. However, it would seem Genesis was destined for more than just being a mate to the future Alpha, she was a chosen mate for Constantine, a lycan, who is more powerful than a werewolf.Things do not go smoothly with our couple and this has to do with Logan and his family’s constant interference with Genesis and Constantine’s friend, Milan. Logan’s father, the Alpha, was a turd and couldn’t believe he was Alpha to begin with honestly. There was a lot of drama to share and it never let up, but Genesis handled like a boss in my opinion especially in the end.I did enjoy the karma that Logan suffered after experiencing everything Genesis had to feel. I will say I hated Logan, he was spoiled brat that didn’t realize what he was given until it was too late; that being said I did feel bad about how everything turned out for him, in the end he did the right, but it was too late.I can’t wait to read Penny and Darius’ story that seems interesting, but I would love to know what lies ahead for Caspian, the knucklehead.
