Title: Frustrating but oh so good

I loved Grim, he faught like crazy to not only survive but to save his brothers and sadly it wasn't enough. Then he found his Angel and his Reaper. Tricia I had mixed feelings about, she was hot and cold, there and not. I couldn't understand her not telling Grim about Moby, after all she told both the twins, which brings up why had Suraya not told Bodie either, given all the threats and danger. This was twisted and pretty tough reading at times, some of the pain and heartache could have very easily been avoided with a simple solution but for someone supposedly sweet, she sure was stubborn and it cost her and him. The violence is graphic and full on, from both sides. It is gripping and I really wanted Grim to get his HEA, he was so patient and understanding even when it broke his heart, he deserved to find a love worthy of all he had to give. I get so wound up for the guys when the women take unnecessary risks that could cost lives, I'm so in the zone I want to scream at them. What's so hard about staying safe in one place? Sit and read a book, watch tv, cook, it's easy to find something to do to pass the time. Frustrating but oh so good.

Review: For this story, more than any of the other stories in the series, I do NOT consider it to be a STAND-ALONE. For maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers, I HIGHLY recommend these be read in publication date order, as there are multiple reoccurring characters, with past, concurrent and consecutive timelines, and overarching themes. This is also written in conjunction with other authors in the same Royal Bastards MC (RBMC) universe, but it stands alone with a supernatural theme.

The majority of this story is written about past events and fills in how Grim met Trish, what happened in their relationship during the previous events that transpired in the other stories in the series. Nikki Landis does an excellent job of providing their POVs without duplicating the other scenes. That is why this in no way can be considered a stand-alone read.

* This is a darker themed ‘1percenter’ MC series. There are multiple themes and scenes that may be difficult for sensitive readers. High-level examples are listed below. *

Maybe it was just me, but during some of the scenes I had a hard time keeping the Suraya, Sasha and Trish angle straight. As I referenced above, Nikki does a great job not repeating, but adding to these scenes. I just wish some of this had been included in the previous stories and there would have been more current information.

There were a few of grammatical issues in the story, but nothing difficult to interpret (I.e. incorrect word choice, missing / extra inserted words, incorrect punctuation). Review: This was a good read. It did feel a little rushed. The plot was okay and of course, bleeds into the other books in the series. There were too many sex scenes, that took away from what could have been a stronger plot.

Trish and Grim (the President of the RBMC) met years ago. Trish at the time was just a little girl. While Grim was breathing what he though was going to be his last breath, on the side of a road.

Years later, fate brought them together and their lives have been filled with nothing but trouble, from just about day one. Trish had endured tragedy, on more than one occasion and she decided that she couldn’t take it anymore.

Meanwhile, Grim is out and about exacting vengeance for his brothers and doing the Devil’s work, of reaping souls. But, his mind is never far from Trish.

After a hiatus, Trish decides that she is done running and she now has to face the music. She arrives back in the arms of Grim and still more trouble is headed their way.

Review: This book is part of the Royal Bastards MC collection. This is the fourth book for this chapter. This is Grim and Trish’s story. I was so excited to finally get to read their story. The series has been building to their story. In this book you learn how the guys became reapers. Trish and Grim are connected. He met her when she was just a little girl before making the deal that made him a reaper. Then 18 years later he meets her again. Neither of them ever forgot each other. They connect hard and fast then she disappears. Grim needs to find her. Will he be able to save her and get their happy ending? I have been pulling for Grim. He has been through so much. Not that Trish hasn’t. I love Grim so much. These characters are fantastic and I can’t wait to read more about this chapter and the characters. Fantastic job Nikki.
