Writing A Sad Love Song

I sit alone with pen in hand, And try to write a love song grand, But all I feel is sorrow deep, As I think of love I couldn't keep. The memories flood back so fast, Of love that died and couldn't last, Of promises broken and dreams unfulfilled, Of love that faded and was killed. I try to put my feelings down, To make them rhyme and wear a crown, But every word just feels so wrong, As I struggle to write a sad love song.
