New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.

The only way to be accepted to Kyoto University is to be number 1 or 2 in a public junior high school with about 100 students per grade here in the northern area of Mie Prefecture, and to be accepted to Yokkaichi High School. And then, within the top 10% after entering Yokkaichi High School, the student will be admitted to Kyoto University. And only those students who have studied until they are within the top 10% after entering Yokkaichi High School.

Of the top 2%, I would have to say that they are a very small group because they are within another 10%.

The mindset is different from the average student. Most students aim to exceed the average score, but Kyoto University applicants are within the top 1% of junior high school students. If they are accepted into an advanced school, they will be aiming for the top 10%. Naturally, their way of thinking and lifestyle patterns will be different from the majority of students.

Japanese society is characterized by strong peer pressure, but what is peer pressure? It means to conform to the opinions of the majority. The majority is a group that concentrates around the average. In other words, it is a pressure to force people to conform to what the mediocre think.

It is no wonder that Japanese society is stagnant.
