NEWS ANCHOR: Good evening and welcome to the latest update on the earthquake that struck Turkey earlier today. Reports are coming in of a magnitude 7.0 quake that hit the eastern province of Elazig, causing widespread damage and triggering panic among residents.

NEWS ANCHOR (voiceover): The earthquake struck at 8:55 PM local time, and its effects were felt across several neighboring provinces. The tremors were strong enough to cause buildings to collapse, and rescue teams have been deployed to search for survivors.
