Wadi is a dry riverbed that only contains water when it rains. Saudi Arabia relies on two sources of water, namely groundwater and water obtained from desalination plants that remove salt from seaway, Groundwater makes up 98 percent of the water sources as there are no rivers or lakes in the kingdom and there is almost no rain. Nearly 50% of drinking water comes from desalination, 10% from surface water and 40% from non-renewable groundwater extraction
