South Africa is plagued by many social and economic challenges and the COVID 19 pandemic only served as to make things even worse. The country is on fire , “Shango lia swa” is a sculpture that represent the decay that sees woman in chains and the missing teeth highlights the poor security system in a country that is meant to protect them. The sculpture consists of one big giant head with a fake smile. And the face is indicative of the current situation in South Africa.
