Crushed Can on the Football Field

I'm a crushed can on the pitch drunk up empty What day it is? maybe half sunny half rainy What stadium this is? I can never tell The teams that clashed I may never know Maybe Barcelona versus Liverpool Or Manchester United versus Chelsea Each assumption leads farther from the truth The player that drank me might have been one... Probably a player from the losing team Though lifeless I could hear him quake within. I may be just a crushed can on this football field But every creature has it's own

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way lea

Soul

if you have ever walked crying in the rain if you have ever screamed with no sound at the top of your lungs if you have ever had a very deep wound with no rushing blood to show if you have ever felt your heart fall within your chest then I know your storm I know your song Even though I may not know your story Our souls though different they are one and the same

Beauty

This is the 2nd Poem I have ever written. Same age as I wrote 'Life As A Poet.' So I'd have been 13 or 14 when I wrote this.

Love sad poem

In the hush of a lonely heart, a melody plays, A bittersweet tune of love's bygone days. We built a castle, grand and tall, But the wind whispered secrets, and watch it fall. Your touch, a ghost, lingers on my skin, A haunting reminder of what has been. Laughter's echo mocks the silent room, Empty promises blooming in the gloom. Each whispered word, a piercing thorn, Memories like embers, forever worn. I close my eyes, a teardrop slips away, Lost in a love that could not stay. The moon, a witnes

Mornin' Prayer

A time of peace, a time of grace To start the day with God's embrace A time to talk, a time to pray A time to thank Him for the day A time to seek, a time to learn To ask for strength for what we yearn A time to hope, a time to trust To seek His will and do what must A time to love, a time to care To share His love and show we're there A time to give, a time to share To show His grace and show we care A time to rise, a time to start To open up our humble heart A time to seek, a time to find The

A Little Light to Brighten Your Day

When the clouds of grief gather and the world appears to be dreary, Remember, you are loved, and you will find your path. Take a deep breath and take a look about you. Take in the beauty that surrounds you. The birds in the trees are chirping, and the sun's rays are reaching the ground. Allow the small things to offer you delight. The scent of flowers in the garden, a child's laughing, and the warmth of the sun's beams. Take a minute to be still, and fill your heart with the hope of a better day

Poem "Unyielding vines to me ivy"

Through trials fierce, I've learned to stand, A resolute vine in life's demanding land, With leaves of strength, I faced the storm, My spirit steadfast, forever warm. From humble roots, my journey grew, Embracing challenges, old and new, Through darkest nights, I faced my fears, And watered dreams with heartfelt tears.

Greatness

The journey of greatness, Though known but to a few, Can take you higher Than you ever knew. The profound feeling of triumph, As you craft a life of beauty, Can lead you to greater heights Rising up to your own greatness. Challenges you'll face, But victory will come, As with faith and courage You make greatness your own. The strong will carry on, And greatness will reign, Invincible, remarkable.

Give Your Black Boy A Flower

Your black boy Is a garden of stumps, his heart is rooted out of a fertile ground for you to plant a dream on his Humus skin. he Is a machine Void of human language. He understands solely, his breath on your skin and the sweet nectar of your pineapple lips. Again, he is an illustrative painting of your dad. He watches you grow Into his arms like sweet alyssums sprouting in early winter as he lays on your flower bed nurturing his lovelessness into something. And of all that he deserves... the ros
