A Lesson in Respect: A Poem for a Disrespectful Child

Respect is a lesson that I must teach It's a lesson that I hope you'll reach It's not something that you can buy or sell It's a lesson that you must learn yourself It's not something that can be taken away It's something that you must learn to stay It's not something that you can ignore It's something that you must learn to explore Respect is a lesson that you must learn It's a lesson that will help you discern It's a lesson that will help you grow It's a lesson that will help you know It's a le

Love Poem for Wednesday

You’re the day after Tuesday, before eternity. You’re the day we ran out of tomatoes and used tiny packets of ketchup instead. You are salt, no salt, too much salt, a hangover. You hold the breath of an abandoned cave. Sometimes you surprise me with your aurora borealis and I’ll pull over to watch you; I’ll wait in the dark shivering fields of you. But mostly, not. My students don’t care for you or your lessons from the life of a minor god. Can you hit the high C in our anthem? Can you bench pre

The Free Captive

My thoughts don’t let me think, The voices in my head although unheard leaves me scared and red. They seem to scream what it is I don’t get. Not for the promises of a lover unmet, Nor for the change of fake friends whose line never seems to come to an end. But for what is what I try to get, The strange words unspelt, I remain a free captive Captivated by my own initiative. I try to run but it’s all in vain Because you can’t run from your own brain. I think I’m free but then my thoughts come agai

Lullaby

Golden slumbers kiss your eyes, Smiles awake you when you rise; Sleep, pretty wantons, do not cry, And I will sing a lullaby, Rock them, rock them, lullaby …

Poem "Mother's Love"

A mother's love is like a rose, So beautiful and pure. It's a love that knows no bounds, And will always endure. A mother's sacrifice is great, She puts her children first. She works so hard to give them all, Her love and all her worth. She wakes up early in the morn, And stays up late at night. She never complains or fusses, Just does what feels right. A mother's love is unconditional, It never fades or dies. It's a love that will always be, A constant in our lives. So here's a poem to all the

ADRIFT

Amidst the shadows, I wander, adrift, A soul in search of a guiding rift. A compass lost in a world unknown, A heart seeking solace, a place to call home. The path before me, shrouded in haze, I stumble through life's intricate maze. Lost in the echoes of whispered fears, Yearning for a light to dry my tears. In the depths of uncertainty, I reside, A puzzle unfinished, a knot hard to untie. A ship on a sea of doubts untamed, Yearning for purpose, to be named. But even in this darkness, a glimmer

Forgiveness poem

I don't get it, I don't know how to say this, But I am sorry for what happened, I can't go back and change that all, but things were just a bit tight, I ask for your forgiveness and I beg you now, To forgive me now, and end this now.

Reflection poem

The scariest thing I ever had To encounter Wasn't a ghost, or a big scary Monster It was a reflection I saw as I looked in the Mirror The moment I had to face All the dark parts I tried hard to erase Yet as I looked a bit closely At the eyes starring back at me I realized they were still there Untouched and unfazed Waiting for the day To be let out of their cage

Love Love

Love Poem in Verse Roses are red, violets are blue, My love for you is forever true. With every beat of my heart, I'll love you more, never to part. In your eyes, I see my future, With you, my life feels like a suture. Together we'll laugh, love and grow, Forever united, our love will glow. Through the storms and the sunny weather, I'll be by your side, now and forever. My love for you will never fade, Together we'll make memories to be made. So take my hand and be mine, Together forever, our lo

A poem

Beneath the sky, where dreams take flight, Stars twinkle in the velvet night, Whispers of the breeze in the trees, Nature's song, a gentle ease. In moments small or grand and bright, Life's a journey, a thrilling rite, With hope and love, we find our way, In this brief dance, we seize the day.

Beauty is All Around Us

Beauty is everywhere, if only we take the time to look, From the rolling hills, to the busy city streets, The stars that twinkle in the night sky above us, To the tiny firefly's small illuminating flicker. The gentle swooshing of the waves crashing upon the shore, The sweet aroma of flowers in full bloom, The breathtaking sunsets that light up the sky, Each leaving us in awe of this stunning world. Beauty is more than skin deep, but can be found within, The kind heart of a stranger that gives us

IN YOUR HEART. A FAMILY POEM

He was so proud of his little girl. It was her very first day of school. He walked with her to school that day, And she held his hand all the way. They walked together quiet and sad, A little girl and her loving dad. Into the school her father led, But he almost cried when she said, "Daddy, Daddy, please don't go. Don't leave me here all alone. I'll miss you if you go away, And I might need you; can't you stay?" "Little Daughter, please don't cry. You'll be okay, so dry your eyes. You have our memories in your heart. We're together though we're apart." He sat up front on her wedding day And cried as his daughter walked away. Later that night he watched her dance. He sat there waiting for his chance. The band started to play their song. Father and daughter danced along. She looked at him and saw a tear Then leaned and whispered in his ear, "Daddy, Daddy, I have to go. I hate to leave you all alone. I'll miss you when I go away, But if you need me then I'll stay." We're together..."

LOVE POEM

"Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all: What hast thou then more than thou hadst before? No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call— All mine was thine before thou hadst this more. Then if for my love thou my love receivest, I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest; But yet be blamed if thou this self deceivest By wilful taste of what thyself refusest. I do forgive thy robb’ry, gentle thief, Although thou steal thee all my poverty; And yet love knows it is a greater grief To bea
