Trapped in Helplessness

A feeling of powerlessness, A sense of being trapped, The weight of the world on your shoulders, And no way to adapt. You try to break free, But the chains are too strong, You scream for help, But no one comes along. Lost in a sea of despair, With no hope in sight, You struggle and fight, But it's a losing fight. Helplessness consumes you, It's all that you know, And in the end, you realize, You're never letting go.

Strength

Strength is not the ability to lift heavy weights, Or to run a marathon without stopping. Strength is not the absence of fear, Or the ability to always win. Strength is the ability to pick yourself up, When you've been knocked down. Strength is the ability to keep going, When you want to give up. Strength is the ability to face your fears, And to overcome them. Strength is the ability to be yourself, And to not let anyone else define you.
