Prayer

O Power whose presence is our soul's delight, From whom alone our being and our life Flow forth, and unto whom at last they drift, Accept our prayer to-night. For we are weak, and bowed with many a care, Oppressed with grief, and troubled with the sin That doth defile our souls and make us bare Of all that makes us kin. We pray for those we love, who are to us More dear than life itself, and for the rest Of all Thy children, whom Thou dost not thus Forsake and desolate. We pray for peace on eart

Forgiveness

The hardest word to say, The hardest thing to do, But it's the only way To set yourself free. It doesn't mean you have to forget, Or that what they did was okay, But it does mean you can let go Of the anger and the pain. Forgiveness is a gift, Not just to the other person, But to yourself. It's the key to healing, And it's the only way to move on. So if you're holding on to anger, Or if you're struggling to forgive, Just know that you're not alone. It's a process, and it takes time, But it's wor

The View From The Summit

010 Did you see that mountain's peak? It's so high and so hard to climb. I'm always behind its shadows and I'm so sick. But I am just me, So ordinary, I'm not strong. So I will not be able to climb that mountain peak. Did you see that high summit? I wonder how far my feet can take me there. But I'm just me, So mediocre, Far from strong. So I will not be able to step unto that summit. So I will just hide in its shadows, Never be able to see that sun ahead. I will just bury my self in my sorrows,

Dry Land

If there was a someone, An island upon which to rest, I'd beach myself so gladly, From this ocean I detest, Be my refuge from the tides, They drag me under often, I wish to wake upon dry land, Marooned at daylight's dawning. If your arms are my salvation, I'll shipwreck this drowning heart, Be glad to wade through waves, To make a brand new start, There has to be a sand bar, Upon which I'll stand and view, Much better things to come, I only pray those things mean you.

New Month

July, oh July, a month so bright and fair, With sun-kissed days and gentle summer air. The world is lush, with greens and blues abounding, And every sight and sound is so astounding. The birds sing sweetly, in the trees and skies, Their melodies a joy to all our eyes. The flowers bloom, in fields and gardens too, Their vibrant hues a feast for me and you. The warm sun shines, with all its radiant might, And fills our hearts with pure and endless light. The days are long, and full of endless fun,

A shoulder to cry on

A shoulder to cry on A shoulder to cry on is better than gold, In dark times  it gives energy to go on. Lights that were turned off  will be turn on while it comforts like a mother to new born giving hope and erasing pain of what is gone. A shoulder to cry on help you to mourn providing company until you set on new dawn. It understand why you cry and what you lost. It doesn’t intent to show off hence it never fall short and comes from the least expected with no cost.

Endurance

In different forms comes this gift, given to many, the power to take each day and make it plenty. A strength found deep within, to persevere, the will to survive the pain and fears. To face the hardship, to conquer the wall, for it is in endurance we will stand tall.

Goodness

Goodness, thou art the soul of all that's fair, The charm, the grace, the light of all things here: In thee the sun his glorious splendors wears, And in thy beams the moon her silver tears; The flowers their beauty from thy hand derive, And in thy smile the birds their carols give; The gentle zephyrs at thy breath rejoice, And all the groves in harmony rejoice; The ocean in thy presence calms its waves, And in thy light the stars their beauty save; The earth, the air, the sky, all nature speaks

Treasure: Hymn of the Birds

The subject of this poem is nature. I also used metaphors throughout the content of this poem. E.g..."The hymn of the birds The whoosh of the rivers The breeze of the mountain dews These are nature’s offer of a captivating paradise "

Nigeria bleeding

Nigeria's heart is broken in two, Terror befalls us, what shall we do? Blood and pain fill our skies, Our land which to us never dies. We are drowning in oceans of sorrow, No solace found in tomorrow. Our hopes and dreams have been crushed As our soul still stirs and hushes. We see the future filled with despair, Nobody seems to care. No change or progress in sight, As we all suffer our plight. We have forgotten what it means to have joy, As our fate brings us toil and toil. We are dying, we are
