EXCO RESOLUTIONS Ebonyi State Executive Council Meeting took place today at Exco chambers, the new government house, Abakaliki, the state capital. Chairman of the Council, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru the Governor presided over the meeting and the following resolutions were made. 1. Housing and Urban Dev. Council received a progress report from the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Dev on the construction of low-cost housing units for Izzo and Amanze Communities in Ishielu LGA who lost their houses due to communal crisis and also for communities in Izzi and Abakaliki LGAs that lost their lands to the Government acquisition without compensation and resolved to execute it in phases beginning with the ones in Izzo and Amanze Communities. Camille Pissarro 10 Jul 1830 - 13 Nov 1903

Camille Pissarro was a Danish-French Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist painter born on the island of St Thomas. His importance resides in his contributions to both Impressionism and Post-Impressionism. Pissarro studied from great forerunners, including Gustave Courbet and Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot. He later studied and worked alongside Georges Seurat and Paul Signac when he took on the Neo-Impressionist style at the age of 54. In 1873 he helped establish a collective society of fifteen aspiring artists, becoming the "pivotal" figure in holding the group together and encouraging the other members. Art historian John Rewald called Pissarro the "dean of the Impressionist painters", not only because he was the oldest of the group, but also "by virtue of his wisdom and his balanced, kind, and warmhearted personality". The legend has it that Cao Zhi (192-232), a prince of the state of Cao Wei, fell in love with the magistrate’s daughter. However, she married his brother, Cao Pi, and the prince became dejected. Later, he composed an emotional poem about the love between the goddess and mortal. In the 4th century, Gu Kaizhi (ca. 344-ca. 406), a Chinese artist, was moved by the story and illustrated the poem. Unfortunately, the original 4th painting was lost.
