A Global Perspective on a Very American Product

What I find most interesting, writing about this from outside the American financial system, is how much the cash advance app phenomenon reveals about the structural quirks of US personal finance.

The biweekly pay cycle is unusual by global standards. The credit score system, with its particular blend of rewards and punishments, shapes financial behavior in ways that don't translate easily to other countries.
