 Omolara Omolabi's Brace Leads Rovers FC to Victory Over First Bank FC

In an exhilarating encounter at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Rovers FC emerged victorious over First Bank FC with a 2-1 scoreline in Week 2 match of the 2024/25 Nigeria National League (NNL) season. The match, held on Saturday, 14th December 2024, was a closely contested battle with Rovers FC showing resilience and clinical finishing to secure all three points.

The star of the show was Omolara Omolabi, whose brace in the 28th and 72nd minutes propelled Rovers FC to first home win of the season. Omolabi's first goal came in the first half, scored from a well deserved spot kick, his second, in the 72nd minute, he scored another penalty goal for Rovers. 

First Bank FC fought back valiantly and pulled one back in the 56th minute through Toheed Dolapo, who managed to get on the scoresheet with a fine free kick . However, Rovers FC’s defense held firm, with goalkeeper and defenders putting in solid performances to thwart any further threats.

The win, which was Rovers FC's second of the season, further solidified their ambitions for a strong campaign in the NNL. The team showed impressive attacking depth, particularly through Omolabi, and displayed tactical discipline to maintain advantage despite the pressure from First Bank FC.
