St. Andrews Schools To Adopt The International GSCE 'O' Level, 'A' Level Examinations.

Barring any last-minute hitch, the popular and well resourced private Senior High School will adopt the British Standard Cambridge Examinations, thus, the GSCE 'O' level and 'A' level

This came to light when the British Council interacted with the authorities of St. Andrews Senior High School with its headquarters at Assin Foso. The proprietor, Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu took the international examination body around the campus and introduced to them some innovations and facilities the school has put in place for the past 18 years

The British officials were elated about the singular effort of an individual to put forth such wonderful facilities and promised to help raised the standards to international level.

Professor Richard Asiedu who is educationist himself revealed that plans are far advanced to convert all his campuses into international schools to write the British General Certificate of Examinations Ordinary and Advance level examinations

He commented that St. Andrews has superior facilities than most acclaimed international schools in Ghana using the British curricular and fully prepared to adhere to the international standards of education.

He commended the British authorities for maintaining the old system of education of which he is a proud product of. Professor Asiedu attended Swedru Secondary School for his secondary education by obtaining the GCE 'O' levels and top it up with the GCE 'A' levels at Nkroful Agricultural Secondary School.

In his closing remarks to thank the visitors, he lamented that WAEC has it own problems both internally and externally and students are confused when to write examinations and when to finish. 

Again, the Council is saddled with internal squabbles which makes decision making a hectic one.

WAEC in its quest to promote sanctity of it examinations has allowed Non-Governmental Organizations ( NGO's) and Civil Society Organizations ( CSO's) to control their internal affairs apart from that, the government in its quest to score cheap political advantage is using the Ministry of Education to manipulate WAEC activities, this and other factors is gradually leading to WAEC certificates not getting the necessary recognition

Professor Richard Asiedu was therefore happy that an international acclaimed body like Cambridge examination body is recognising the efforts and performance of the school in terms of academic and infrastructural development.

St Andrews Senior High School was established by Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu in the year 2005. The school currently in partnership with reputable personalities in Ghana and abroad has 7 branches. The headquarters is at Assin Foso and the other branches at New Edubease, Mankessim, Dunkwa-On-Offin, Sefwi Asawinso, Shama and Accra.

The school provides first class services in education and plans to extend its tentacles to other West African countries. The average annual candidature of the schools stands at 4300 and the school believes that with the adoption of the international Cambridge examination qualifications, the international student population currently will increase from 5% to about 30% globally.

Professor Richard Kofi Asiedu hinted that the Assin Foso campus will start with the adoption of the British curricular whilst the rest of the campuses will be ropped in gradually.
