Most parents think technology is competing them against parenting, and furthermore affecting their children's morals. My article talks about ways of using technology to save parenting.

How technology could be used to save parenting

Technology has been frequently criticized for eroding children's morals over the years. The current generation however, has the habit of pointing fingers and not taking responsibility. 

The things technology has done and is still doing for this generation surpuses all the blames we insert on it, but we are used to being ungrateful, aren't we?

Parenting is a beautiful thing if you ask me, and being a father, nothing can take away the experience of watching your kid grow, let alone the pace of how the economy is moving. Now here are some of the ways to use technology to construct our children's morals rather than erode them.

We can't mention technology without mentioning computers, phones and gaming consoles. Thanks to the coding kings and queens for ensuring there's a gate and key on these devices. Our children will not stick to the rules however regular you remind them not to trespass. 

Being a child is a stage where that phrase of curiosity killed a cat doesn't make any sense, and hence trial and error is their governing rule. 

Google has a place where you can connect other devices and control them from your phone from miles away, and that section is called parental control. 

Considering the fact that all these devices have to be operated by a Google account, it's easier to control your child's phone, tablet and laptop from anywhere around the world. With this authority, you can control what your child is doing, which means every app installation or content viewing asks your permission. 

So you can either approve or reject any activity on their phone, which helps control your child from overstepping. This helps keep your children's morals in check by preventing them from viewing unhealthy content and installing apps full of immorality.

However much you try to stop your children from getting access to immorality, they will still try and beat you. There's that phrase that stipulates when a cat is away the mice will play, and this reflects directly to our cheeky young angels. 

They will want to counter attack all your tricks by getting behind your back and explore explicit contents like pornography, drug abuse and violent activities. They will even go ahead and leave the house to exploit in real life what they viewed in social media. Whoever said kids should be given their privacy has not raised those stubborn ones. 

While away, parents miss alot, and what they miss might just be the thing that can erode their children's morals. CCTV installation will allow them to monitor every step of their children while they're away, incase they have other phones other than the controlled ones or are meeting other children for intimate activities or drug abuse.

Initially, before technology had surfaced, soft copies were not easily found. In the current days that has changed. Learning equipments are posted everywhere online, from novels, text books, educative articles and newspapers. 

Online lessons are also booming everywhere and teachers conducting these lessons are professionals. 

As a parent, you don't need to go and buy a bunch of textbooks or pay three teachers for your child's tuition, only thing you need is a WiFi and a gadget; either a phone, tablet or laptop where your child can download those textbook apps or attend online classes to learn. 

This way, you can help your child during his holidays to catch up and even cover much of what they're studying at school hence improving his or her performance.

In conclusion, technology is like food, we choose what we eat. If our children are controlled in each and every step, then technology will never compete against parenting. They are our responsibility and it's our duty to ensure we take good care of them as well as observing their morals. Good morals breeds good men and women. 

What they consume is our responsibility, time to point fingers should be something of the past. That is the only way we can consume technology and still raise men and women with good morals.
