HON. EMMANUEL IRONBAR VISITS CRS GOVT. INTERVENTION ON GULLY EROSION SITE IN CALABAR

The Cross River State intervention and reconstruction of Aso Edim/Nasarawa/Bacoco/Obot Okoho road gully erosion site in Calabar, is one of the numerous swift and effective intervention to address the pressing issue of gully erosion by the Executive Governor of Cross River State His Excellency Sen Prince Bassey Edet Otu.

Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar Chief of staff to the Governor of Cross River State who visited the site today 17th of February, 2024, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the remarkable progress achieved within just one week. He appreciated his boss the People's Governor for intervening to salvage and reconstruct the only road linking 11 communities.

The ongoing project is done by the skilled technical team of NEWMAP under the adept supervision of Prof. Emmanuel Eyo, the Project Coordinator for NEWMAP in Cross River State.

The collaborative efforts of all involved parties have resulted in a significant transformation of the gully erosion site, showcasing the government's dedication to enhancing infrastructure and uplifting communities in Cross River State. The successful completion of this project serves as a testament to effective governance and proactive initiatives of His Excellency Sen. Prince Bassey Otu aimed at improving the lives of residents in the region.

Accompanying the visit were key figures involved in the project, including the Project Coordinator of NEWMAP, Prof. Emmanuel Eyo, Engr. Obeten Otu, Dr. Edem Ita, the project accountant, and Mrs. Regina Ogbaku, the M&E officer. The head of the Hausa/Fulani community, Alhaji Sani, extended gratitude to Governor Otu for the timely intervention, emphasizing the positive impact on the local residents. Additionally, Chief Stanley Effiom, a traditional ruler, praised the Governor for his remarkable leadership qualities and commitment to community development
