I opened my eyes and I felt weak. Everything was white and I guessed I was in heaven.

"She opened her eyes, doctor!", I heard someone shouted beside me.

Then I heard footsteps and a man came to me, I guessed he's the doctor.

He checked the machines and my body then he said "She's responding to treatment. She is okay now but don't stress her."

The doctor left the room after assigning a nurse to attend to me.

I looked at the person beside me and I recognize her immediately. She's one of the cops that were at the scene that day. Oh now I remember, my parents.

"Where are my parents?" I asked the woman. "Are they alive?"

My heart beat fast as I waited for the response. I looked at her face and judging by her face I guessed they don't make it.

"I'm sorry dear but they are gone", the lady said.

"It was an accident. Your dad was drunk and hit your mom which led to her d*ath and your dad commit su*cide after that. I'm really sorry dear. You are too young to go through this", the woman said.

I know the officer was lying. Maybe they couldn't find any evidence and they have to just call it an accident.

But I was there. I witnessed it all and I was the one who called the cops.

It was an accident indeed but my dad didn't k*ll my mom nor commit su*cide.

I had no other option but to drink their bl*od. 

It's good that they are d*ad anyways because my little secret is safe.

Who would suspect a 9 years old naive girl?

I can't wait to have a new foster parent.

I hope they are also as sweet as my late foster parents too

As I looked at the woman beside me, my cravings came back.

And I know I have to quench my thirst, isn't it?
