Insecurity in Nigeria (A Poem)

A nation in despair, A nation in fear, Where the people can't sleep And the future is unclear. Insecurity reigns, Terrorism gains, And the people are left To fend for their lives. Kidnappings and killings, Rapes and pillaging, The country is in chaos And the people are begging. Where is the government? Where is the help? The people are crying out But no one seems to hear. A nation in despair, A nation in fear, Where the people can't sleep And the future is unclear.

Long Lonely road

Long lonely road The long, lonely road stretches on, No end or beginning in sight, Emptiness and darkness surround me, An abyss I cannot fight. The flicker of stars in the sky, Promise of hope in the night, Fading like a forgotten dream, Dissolving into the light. The winds blow prophetic warnings, And whisper secrets in my ear, Of an unknowable destiny, A future that I cannot hear. The last wolf

Beneath the fading moon's soft glow, The last wolf treads where shadows flow. A sentinel of ages old, In tales of wilderness, its story told. Majestic spirit, fierce and wild, Guardian of the night, undefiled. Legends woven through the trees, Whisper of strength in every breeze. Lone survivor of a primal land, Pawprints etched in the shifting sand. Eyes that hold the secrets deep, In twilight's realm, its vigil to keep. I cried for help Hoping someone would hear me But to no avail I received no response I closed my eyes Trying to wake up from this tormenting nightmare Hoping to see the light When my eyes are opened For the first time in forever I have never felt so helpless and alone I couldn't bear the silence anymore So I started shouting I ran out of breath Thinking maybe I was about to die At that point I couldn't think of anything more Than to end my life
