15 books that changed my life

Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi This is one of the books I love to place on top of most of my lists usually for no particular reason. I guess I fell in love with the book after just one chapter. It wasn't as illustrious in the literary sense as Chinua Achebe would have done but it was subtle and compelling. And not forgetting, a much needed jolt into reality with its unexpected and slightly disturbing ending. A book worth every word of praise accorded it. 2. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

The points accounts only when, millions others, follow now and then

Let me spit these rhymes first, before I get, to the points, and topic worst, Then the pick, of your crimes, sicking artist, to rehearse, From the core, sweating pore, swearing shore, with the daily chore, To study, with a buddy, for a lady, to be daddy, and be quite shady, With the quiet passion, tearing nights, with compassion, wearing whites, onto mansion, Gearing diet, with a pension, while hearing, me right from, the pension, Cheating the bloody, diddy tension, to beat the Jade e-invasion,

Tough Child

Not once did he feel father's love, nor sucked from the breast milk of a mother yet he knows what love is even though he love the wrong way. Tough child is a poem that shows the explicit torture a child went through during his transformation to a fully grown man. A man full of secret and open scar. An open scar with its own story, an open scar with the mark of pain and pride, an open scar which reveal a vulnerable yet dangerous man. Tough child is a child who was given birth to in an abandoned cave.Nobody knew his birth cause the mother who was supposed to create awareness couldn't as she was seen escaping into the cave with a pot belly and now on false labor. While running her water broke down, pushing out a child, blank became the storyline. I grew with an Old hag, she died I was given birth to. Tough Child grew up with no knowledge of himself cause the old hag didn't keep record of his birth, but she only knew the cave welcomed a child and a snake beside it.A tough child

The race of life

I ran on other peoples lane, Passed their opposition's, and even did get fame. I ran through till the end, Kept steady with a pace, never knew it wasn't my place. I ran swiftly until the finish line, With smiles on my face feeling fine. I ran thinking it was my time, But of course the reward wasn't mine. now I realise the time I'd wasted, so sad but good I've tasted. I'll run again, But this time on my lane, Not minding the pain from yesterday. I'll run again, Not for the fame, No matter the pain

African for life. A story about the African calculator.

Thomas Fuller, an African sold into slavery in 1724 at the age of 14, was sometimes known as the “Virginia Calculator” for his extraordinary ability to solve complex math problems in his head. He was asked how many seconds there were in a year and a half, he answered in about two minutes, 47,304,000. Again he was asked how many seconds a man has lived who is 70 years, 17 days and 12 hours old, he answered in a minute and a half 2,210,500,800. One of the men was working out the problems on paper,

HEARTBREAKS WITH AGE

Tell me you've not been hurt before and I'll have hope in humanity! The older we get the more vulnerable we become because we think our experiences have made us handle relationships better...the past made us stronger...deceits more clear...forgiveness more obvious....the uncertainities predictable....our love certainly decisional and mostly WE BECOME LIBERAL. As I sit right here almost 2am in the night Kenyan time I am filled with tears. Because aging has not protected my heart from being broken. Dating and experience has not made me immune to emotions. Compromise has not provided me with my soulmate. Tears run down my cheeks because I am no longer a child but a mature lady crushed in my vulnerabilities. Love has no school, heartbreaks have no degrees. The older I get the more I fear to love unconditionally and whole heartedly and miss out on true happiness. I am still crying because the world cannot save me from myself and I cannot tell who to give these broken pieces anew.

Truth about life

Stay away from those people who try to disparage your ambitions. Small minds will always do that, but great minds will give you a feeling that you can become great too — Mark Twain

Life

Life is but a stopping place in what's to be done. Life is a resting place along the way. A place to learn from our fellow humans. Respect everyone regardless of the persons situation because we came to learn from each other And when we finish our job successfully we continue our journey to eternal rest.

Symphony

This is about how we take things for granted in this life and through many wars and battles many beautiful things are left forgotten which in this poem is the “Symphony” and how we long and search for happiness and peace
