ONITSHA, Nigeria - The 22nd Ofala Festival hosted by His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, held on Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15, 2023 witnessed a gathering of dignitaries from all over Nigeria. Prominent among them is a respected Nigerian global CEO, Valentine Ozigbo, who extolled the virtues of the revered Anambra monarch.

"We extol His Royal Majesty, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, a monarch of unparalleled wisdom and vision, an era of transformative leadership, prosperity, and deep cultural renaissance for the great people of Onitsha has marked his reign," Ozigbo, who was represented by a powerful delegation led by Chief John Okigbo (Onwa Ojoto), remarked.

"Under the distinguished stewardship of Igwe Achebe, Onitsha has flourished not just as a beacon of cultural heritage, but also as a hub of progress and innovation.

"His Royal Majesty's commitment to unifying traditions with modernity has positioned Onitsha as a city ready to face the challenges of the future while remaining deeply rooted in its rich past.

The Ofala Festival, a dazzling showcase of Onitsha's vibrant culture and traditions, stands as a testament to his enduring legacy and the indomitable spirit of Onitsha's people.

"Long may Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe reign, and may the Ofala Festival continue to be a radiant symbol of Onitsha's enduring glory," Ozigbo ended.

Other esteemed members of Ozigbo's delegation are Rt. Hon. Idu Emeka (Ochilimma), the Federal House of Representative for Onitsha North and South; and Mrs. Nneka Assoh, representing Barr. Mrs. Azuka Enemo (Owelle Nwanyi); Hon. Cyril Y. Egwuatu; newly elected members of the House of Assembly from Onitsha North and South, namely Hon. Barr. Pat Okafor, Hon. Barr. Jude Umennajiego, Hon. Fred Ezenwa, and Hon. Justice Azuka; the Labour Party LGA Chairmen for Onitsha North, Onitsha South and Ogbaru, namely Dr Charles Ekeke, Mr. Ndubueze Nwoke and Mr. Emeka Nwosu, together with their executives, Mr. Fes Ugwa, Mr Okechukwu Ogunjiofor (Dolla Man), Hon. Mrs. Amaka Ofojebe (Adadioramma); Chief Mrs. Nkiru Duru, Mr. Afam Okpalauzuegbu, among many others.

The celebration was made even more memorable with the vibrant entertainment provided by Mr. Ozigbo supported by Hon Idu Emeka and Hon Pat Okafor, organised by Hon Justice Azuka. Their contribution, along with that of all attendees, was acknowledged by Dr. Charles Ekeke, the Chairman of LP Onitsha North, who expressed his profound gratitude.

Dr Ekeke stated, "With great joy in my heart, I sincerely thank God for all who came to felicitate with us. Your representation of His Excellency, Valentine Ozigbo was superb. Thank God for the journey mercies He granted to all also. You all made us proud."

He went on to offer his thanks to individuals such as Owelle Azuka Enemo and, Hon CY Egwuatu, and other top leaders of the Labour Party. Dr. Ekeke wrapped his acknowledgements with a prayer, "God will reward you all in Jesus' name."

The 22nd Ofala Festival not only celebrated cultural heritage but also showcased unity, representation, and the collective spirit of the Onitsha community.
