After a decade of building an impressive coaching career across Nigeria, Coach Abdullahi Umar Tyabo has returned home following his appointment as Chief Coach of Niger Tornadoes Football Club.

The appointment marks a significant homecoming for one of Niger State's finest football tacticians and is expected to bolster the club's technical crew under Technical Adviser Coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo ahead of the new football season.

Tyabo, a CAF C Licence holder, has continued to invest in his professional growth by earning several advanced coaching qualifications in Brazil, including a Diploma B Certificate.

He began his coaching career in Minna, where he managed grassroots clubs Rocky Stars FC and KK United before earning his first Nigeria Premier Football League opportunity with Wikki Tourists under Coach Abdul Maikaba.

His impressive rise saw him follow Maikaba to Akwa United, where he was part of the technical team that guided the club to victory in the 2017 Aiteo Cup, defeating Niger Tornadoes in the final. He also contributed to Akwa United's historic Nigeria Premier Football League title triumph in 2021.

Throughout his coaching journey, Tyabo has worked alongside some of Nigeria's most respected football tacticians, including Rafael Everton, Baba Ganaru, Kennedy Boboye, and Fatai Osho. His experience also extends to the national team setup, having served as Head Coach of Nigeria's U-15 team in 2015 and the U-13 team in 2021.

Before sealing his return to Niger Tornadoes, Tyabo served as Head Coach of Gombe United and later Rovers FC of Calabar, where he further established his reputation as a technically sound and progressive coach.

His return is widely regarded as a major boost for the Ikon Allah Boys, with supporters hopeful that his experience, tactical knowledge, and familiarity with the club's football culture will play a vital role in the team's pursuit of success in the coming season.
