THE ONE-TERM COVENANT: WHY IKOM MUST TRUST BOKI AGAIN THROUGH RT. HON. HILARY BISONG

Every election season, politicians speak big English.
But the people of Ikom/Boki are no longer hungry for speeches.
They are hungry for LIGHT.
For ROADS.
For JOBS.
For HOPE.
Today, too many young people in Ikom/Boki are graduating into frustration instead of opportunity. Parents struggle daily just to feed their families. Farmers produce wealth but cannot move products because roads have become disasters. Communities still sleep in darkness. Sick mothers travel miles for healthcare. Dreams are dying quietly in villages forgotten by leadership.
And the painful part?
The future of our children cannot survive another season of empty representation.
That is why the One-Term Covenant of Rt. Hon. Hilary Ekpang Bisong feels different.
It feels human.
It feels urgent.
It feels like a man who understands that leadership is not about occupying office — it is about rescuing lives.
When Hilary Bisong said he wants only ONE TERM, many people were shocked. In a country where politicians fight to remain in power forever, here is a man saying:
“Give me four years. Let me serve completely.”
That is not desperation.
That is confidence.
And unlike many politicians who arrive with promises alone, Hilary Bisong already has visible evidence of service. Across Boki, communities once covered in darkness now have solar street lights. Boreholes in places like Eshiagrube and Agba 1 have restored dignity to families searching for clean water. Schools in communities like Ogep Osokom, Njua-Kaku, Bekpor Irruan, and Ekpashi have received support and revitalization. Healthcare projects and medical outreaches have reached ordinary people who once felt abandoned. Youths have also been empowered through recruitment opportunities into the Nigeria Police Force.
These are not campaign promises.
These are footprints.
And this is why many voices across Ikom are saying something powerful today:
“Let Boki redeem itself through Hilary Bisong.”
Because one failed representation must not become the permanent image of Boki people.
Boki is bigger than disappointment.
And Hilary Bisong represents something many people have almost forgotten in politics:
Compassion.
Experience.
Urgency.
Results.
The truth is simple:
A man fighting for second term protects his seat.
But a man offering himself for only one term fights to protect his legacy.
That is the spirit behind the covenant.
To serve with speed.
To deliver with purpose.
To leave with honor.
Because the future of our young people is too important for another political experiment.
And perhaps, this is the moment Ikom/Boki stops voting for noise…
…and starts voting for rescue.
