PRESS RELEASE : CNPP POSITION ON THE PROPOSED PROTEST.

By ETTAH EMMANUEL O.

Beloved friends, comrades, brothers and sisters and indeed Cross Riverians, it may interest you to know that ordinarily Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) will support and participate in any protest that will make the government especially at the national level sit-up and deliver on dividence of democracy to the people as promised them during the campaigns.

We want to also reiterate that protest is the fundamental human rights of all citizens who feel dissatisfied in a democratic governance, but we must not forget in a hurry the effect of the EndSars movement, how it set Cross River State backward by destroying properties worth billions of naira, both the government and business owners in Cross River State no one was spared, we must not allow a repeat of that in our dear State as criminal elements and hoodlums are capable of hijacking any peaceful protest and unleash mayhem and untold hardship on business owners and hardworking Cross Riverians who are also facing the hardship.

We sincerely appeal to all our youths and Cross Riverians who feel dissatisfied to implore other means of reaching out to the government to deposit their dissatisfaction and shun any protest that will not be in our best interests as a State because both the government and business owners have not recovered from the last EndSars protest that raged like wildfire where criminal elements infiltrated their ranks and looted our state, stories has it that some properties belonging to the state were recovered in Akwa Ibom state.

Finally, while we commend the Cross River State Governor's pragmatic leadership and appeal for the continued prayer and support for the government of Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu who by popular assessment is not doing badly but working assiduously to reposition the lost glory of our beloved state. We wish to urge the Governor not to relent in his campaign promises as it will enhance livelihood and thereby change the narratives as pertaining to the present day economy in the country.

Again, we appeal for NO PROTEST in Cross River State as we seek other avenues of getting to the government for cordial dialogue.

So far so good Governor Bassey Otu has a record of listening to the voice of reasoning.

God bless CNPP!

God bless the government of CRS

God bless Cross River State
