3M™ 700 Series Filter Element Offer Value and Flexibility

Industrial plants use 3M 700 Series filter cartridges for applications where high flow, high contaminant levels, minimum filter footprint, and or extended service life are required.


The radial pleat design provides high dirt holding capacity and high flux rates with lower pressure requirements.  These characteristics translate to less energy usage and lower operating costs.


Made with 100% virgin polypropylene, all 3M 700 Series elements offer broad chemical compatibility and durable construction, making them perfect for many industrial applications.  These include process water, coolants, and various chemical solutions.  


3M’s manufacturing process produces consistent and predictable particle retention and dirt-holding capacity.  You can depend on these filter elements in critical applications that require consistent, reproducible production. 


There are two model series.  3M 740 Series filter elements are available in micron ratings of 1, 5, 10, 15, 25, 40, and 70 micron.  The 740 models fit housings that accept elements with 6.5” (16mm) diameter elements with 40” (101mm) or 30” (76mm) lengths.  The 720 models are 7” (18mm) diameter and 28” (71mm) length and ratings of 2, 10, and 20 micron.  There are two filter media options.  Option “B” is optimized for maximum surface area, while option “K” offers a more open pleat design for contaminants that form a cake.  These options provide significant flexibility to optimize filter performance under many conditions.
