Title: Taking the Series in a Great Direction

Review: I only had one question going into vortex: will this be a good book, or will it ruin the series like so many others? You can find the answer to that question in the rating above. Vortex took the series in a great direction, which is great because insignia didn't really have a clear direction to go in. The plot twists are played out very well, and make sense. There is good character development throughout the book. The book finishes on a good twist, which isn't a cliffhanger, but makes me crave for the next book. If S.J. Kincaid reads this, then be proud of yourself! You are writing a great series! I look forward to buying catalyst in October!

Title: Amazing characters

Review: There's something about all the characters that makes them so unique and so real; Kincaid somehow builds on clichés and stereotypes before breaking an aspect of them entirely, creating interesting characters without making them unrealistic or Mary-Sues. Not to mention, the world building is incredibly thorough, complex, and well thought out. Really good for someone who likes Ender's Game but wants something more like a YA novel, such as Percy Jackson or The Hunger Games (like me!).

Review: My 11 year old avid reader just LOVES this trilogy!!! He read the 1st book at camp in a few days and wanted the 2nd and 3rd so it really held his interest. He loved Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Sky Jumpers, and The Unwanteds series to give you an idea of the books that he has enjoyed.

Review: I fell in love with the end of the first novel. I don't always like the main character Tom, but I am always interested in what he will decide to do next. I recommend this book to sci-fi fans, fans who enjoy boy adventure stories, and of course fans of the first book in this series, Insignia.

Review: As I didn't read the first book, I thought the first chapters went slow. After that the action was faster and I was understanding it better. I will read this book again later on. It was a good one.
