Title: Very slim book but great content

Review: I didn't check the length before buying, and it's much smaller than I expected. It's well written, and easy to understand. The content would be good for a parent who isn't familiar with disregulated children, and I am going to keep it as a resource for my clients. (I am a mental health counselor). The book is about 100 pages and has reflection questions and room to write throughout. I like how the author made the information easy to access for stressed parents.

Review: This book offers so many valuable strategies and tips to helping kids regulate their emotions! It is also helpful as an adult to learn more about regulating my own emotions. It’s a super easy read. I finished it in about two hours and enjoyed it the whole time. It gets straight to the point!

I would have given the book 5 stars, but I found multiple typos. That tends to damage the credibility for me. However, if you can see past that, this books answers some great questions and can be super beneficial for educators or other professionals working with children.

Review: I really enjoyed the majority of this book. The information is not ground breaking (especially if you have any experience working with children in the school setting). What was disappointing was the end of the book listing two very well known “strategies” then suggest buying another book by the author for more ideas.

Review: This is a must read for parents and teachers everywhere. Really, for anyone who works with kids in any capacity. This book answers the questions about what to do when our children are in a heightened emotional state. I really appreciate how the book begins by explaining what is physiologically happening to the body and the brain when a child is "flooded," in other words, in that inconsolable state. The book then teaches us how to help children regulate their emotions. As a mom with a child who struggles with OCD anxiety, this book has been very helpful in those really intense moments when he is ramped and struggles to calm down. As a busy mom of three, this book has helped me understand my own triggers and how to be a better, present parent. As a former teacher and admin, this would be a go-to text for PD for my staff.
