In a notable effort aimed at rejuvenating the esteemed Obudu Hilltop FC, stakeholders, under the leadership of Mr. Ufo O Gabriel, recently convened a courtesy visit to Hon. Agnes Atsu, Commissioner for Sports Development. The meeting, which took place at the Calabar International Stadium Swimming Pool on May 23, 2024, was moderated by Mr. Samuel Egbala, the Permanent Secretary of the Cross River State Ministry of Sports Development.

The occasion served not only to extend felicitations to the Commissioner on her appointment, presentation of Awards,but also to underscore the rich history of Obudu Hilltop FC and advocate for crucial support towards its resurgence. The delegation was led by Dr. Mathias U. Angioha, Commissioner for Industry and Dr. Kenn Aklah, SA Power, Mr Gabe Ufonu, presented speeches.

In introductory remarks, Dr Mathias Angioha, emphasized the profound significance of Obudu Hilltop FC within the community, highlighting its pivotal role in youth development. He stressed the imperative of garnering support from both the Commissioner and fellow stakeholders to breathe new life into the club. Hon. Mathias Unimke, the Commissioner for Industries, Cross River State, echoed Mr. Gabriel's statement,

emphasizing the illustrious legacy of the club and the pressing need for governmental and ministerial backing to facilitate its revival. Mr. Ekanem Ekpenyong, SA to the Governor on Sports Development, added a personal touch to the discussion by reminiscing about the club's glory days. He pledged steadfast support for the team's resurgence, underscoring the necessity of functional clubs like Obudu Hilltop FC in regions such as Ikom and Obudu to assist in bring footballers into the state team.

Dr. Godwin Odey, 2nd Vice Chairman of the Cross River State Football Association, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and committed to advocating for the team's inclusion in prestigious leagues like the National Nigeria League (NNL) or National League One (NLO), thereby reinforcing the collective endeavor towards restoring Obudu Hilltop FC.
