Review: Summary:

She is the sassy-mouthed Tiny Dancer. Prima ballerina with a beauty, brains, and a never ending reserve of insults for me- her brother’s best friend John Brandt, known to her as Jonny B. Nerdballs. I am no good at social interactions, usually too forward and direct. Also, I spent way too long building my empire- a tech start up and a name for myself. I was always coming back for her, though… Olivia was always the only one for me, ever since I saw her dance in a recital when she was far too young for me. I have taken care of myself. I think I am finally worthy of her… not all I have to do is convince her and not get killed by my best friend.

My thoughts:

I don’t often write reviews on the romance novels I read unless they are really, really good. I am super picky. I want it all- the meet cute, good character development, chemistry, good story line and, God help me, more story line than sex. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a prude and will read books that are more erotic in nature…. but I want to feel for the characters and to like them as people. This book brought it all. I was half in love with John from the word “go”. He is determined, loyal, loving…. and awkward as all hell. There were times where the whole “workaholic” thing was played a bit much, but I feel like it stayed in line with his character. Olivia was a great character too, sassy and strong willed, loyal and loving. Watching the two interact was brilliant. For me, it was a four star book.
On the adult content scale, I would give it an eight. The sex scenes are pretty explicit and there’s some language.

Review: I am torn in my review here. I'll start by saying I bought this after an author I love recommended it. I think the recommendation had something to do with forced title change? I dont know for sure.
So my review... I loved this story. I loved Olivia more than John. That rarely happens for me. The back and forth in time was hard for me to keep up with or enjoy in the beginning. By the end, I was dying for young John. I liked him more. I did like his character but I didn't love him. I can't decide if he is yummy or not for me. That's a new thing too. I usually love or hate a character. I did love Olivia. I think that Olivia and John are perfect together and I love them together. I was left wanting more at the end and hating the rush to the end. It skipped so much that I felt cheated rd out of something amazing. It would be nice to get a short story with a few details. I loved the brothers role in the end. I know my review is chaos and sporadic but that's kinda how my mind feels after reading this. I definitely recommend this book but I am not sure if I will revisit it in the future. I only leave 5 starts for those books I'll definitely read again. And would be 100% recommended. I will recommend it but with my reservations about the time jumps and whatnot.
Overall a great story!

Title: Once the plot takes off it's a really great book

Review: Kaling Loring is fast becoming one of my favorite authors because she is so freakin' funny. She must have been hopped up on laughing gas when she created this character Johnny B. Nerdballs. He's so out there, and the dialogue between him and Olivia is so off the wall, ya just gotta smile and shake your head in bewilderment.

Johnny B Nerdballs is a cross between Sheldon Cooper and Dr. Ruth. He doesn't do emotion so he says. But the truth is, he just does it differently. He decided a long time ago that he was going to marry Olivia and he set about doing it in a way that made sense to him. He tries to engineer a love connection with her and it's hella awkward. The two of them don't think alike at all. Olivia is an artist—a ballerina—who is enveloped in the emotionally charged, sensual world of dance. So the way that John compartmentalizes the different parts of his life is upsetting to her. Watching these two learn to navigate within each other's worlds is a thing of beauty. And the way they did it isn't the way that I expected them to, so that was a surprise ending. What seemed like an impossible pairing turned out to be something special.

Don't DNF this book just because the nerd-speak in the beginning is a little verbose. It gets better and there's a really good payoff. This turned out to be a book that I couldn't put down. It's confounding and whimsical and so much fun, and a really sweet love story. It's impossible not to enjoy this one.

Review: This is a brother's best friend book, one of my favorite tropes.
Olivia is a dancer. John is a wealthy man and a genius. She depends on emotions to do her job properly. He avoids them like the plague because they wouldn't be good for business. When he needs someone to accompany him to some social functions, he makes her an offer she can't refuse.

I love how he's into her, but she doesn't seem to be. But he's able to push down all her walls until they crumble. The thing is... will she be able to do the same to his?

The bottom line is that he needs to fully understand her, and she doesn't want to be understood. She simply needs him to just love her, without realizing he already does.
In fact, they already do love each other.
And they probably have for a while.

Review: What a delightful, romantic and humorous story!

I read this whole book with a goofy smile plastered to my face and my fingers crossed that this couple would find love and happiness together.

John’s personality is so quirky and throughout, he is written consistently. He is nerdy but he made my heart flutter a lot. These two were so darn cute! Olivia’s family and restaurant work colleagues make up a loving and fun supporting cast I loved reading about too.

I laughed out loud a lot and swooned too. What a great mix in a romance novel. I recommend it.

This is a new-to-me author. I loved her fresh writing style. I'll be reading more Kayley Loring books for sure.
