Review: "Father" Chad Ripperger, posing as a Traditional Catholic (while condemning them from the pulpit), has obtained a large following due to people who have misplaced confidence in him on account of his outward appearance of preferring the Traditional "smells and bells" of the Tridentine Mass, and of quoting the Doctors and saints. Unfortunately, however, there's absolutely no Traditional precedent for Catholic LAITY to directly engage with and issue commands (imperative adjurations) to demons. Some of the prayers in this book do exactly that, and, as there's no Catholic precedent for it, Ripperger had to adapt various Protestant formulas for this purpose.

Ripperger mis-reads and mis-interprets St. Alphonsus as justifying the practice. But a reading of the Latin from St. Alphonsus' "Moral Theology" indicates that the saint actually (and unequivocally) CONDEMNS it. In addition to distinguishing between solemn and private adjuration, St. Alphonsus makes a separate distinction between "imperative" and "deprecatory" adjuration. He states that its is not permitted (under pain of mortal sin) to issue deprecatory adjuration to demons (not even by Exorcists) and that imperative adjurations may ONLY be issued by 1) those in authority to their subordinates and 2) EXORCISTS to demons, the latter being in the same category, since Exorcists have the Church's authority over demons. Ripperger's blunder is to conflate the second distinction with the first and thereby claim that non-solemn adjurations are permissible for the laity. Not so. These are two separate sets of distinctions, and the solemn vs. private distinction has no bearing on the matter at hand.

Ripperger's assertion that the laity may issue imperative adjurations to demons when these demons afflict those over whom we do have authority (such as our children) is a complete novelty and a mis-reading of the Traditional sources. There's no precedent for it in Catholic theology ... which is why Ripperger (doubtfully ordained in the New Rite) had to, as mentioned earlier, adapt Protestant prayers for this purpose. In order to issue imperative adjurations, we must have authority over the BAD ACTORS (i.e. demons) themselves, and not merely their victims.

Consequently, it's extremely dangerous for Catholics to use some of the prayers in this book. Catholics recognize that God is in complete control over what demons are permitted or not permitted to do, so we pray to God, Our Lord, Our Blessed Mother, the Terror of Demons, and the angels (particularly St. Michael and our Guardian Angels), and make use of the Church's sacramentals (holy water, blessed salt, St. Benedict's metals, etc.) to reliably and efficaciously ward off demonic influence or attacks from us.

Direct engagement with and excessive curiosity about demons actually leads to opening the door for them to exert greater influence on us than they might otherwise have been permitted. Ripperger often implies that there are demonic forces behind everything (from financial problems and even to "hiccups", I kid you not), whereas Catholics know that many/most of our sins are due to our weaknesses, and to temptations from the flesh and the world (and not just demons), and no sins are committed without our free consent. Ripperger's writing and talks lead to an unhealthy curiosity, which is precisely why Ripperger has gained such a large following, from people who have itchy ears and seek novelty and curiosity, with a similar attitude as those shows about "Ghost Hunters" and the like. And this tendency to see demons everywhere, and to "blame" our sins on demonic influence, including even some demon that a great-great-great-grandfather might have introduced into our family line, i.e. some "generational spirit", attracts people that might be looking for someone else to blame for their sins and failings.

Finally, this notion that by discovering the precise nature (and even names) of the demons afflicting us, we somehow can gain more power over them smacks of superstition. We needn't delve in at this level of detail. While Ripperger suggests invoking Our Lady of Sorrows to find out which demons afflict us, it is just as, if not more, efficacious to simply pray to the same Lady, "Please protect us from whatever demons might be afflcting us." as it shows our confidence in her. She knows full well which ones they are and is perfectly capable of taking care of them without our knowing precisely what their names are and counting them.

Catholics should avoid this book as dangerous, and is more Protestant than Catholic.

Title: Amazing book of prayers!

Review: I like many others am a struggling catholic who wants to better themselves and learn more about our faith and improve as a person of the faith. I was made aware of this book thanks to Zachary King (former high wizard satanist) who I follow on facebook. He highly recommended this book to his feed and usually when people recommend certain books I just say “ah cool” like that’s nice but like whatever. But something about this book made me get it, I think it was the Holy Spirit! I struggle with some addictions that I want to overcome and leave behind for good. This book has so far really helped me out a lot. These prayers honestly make me feel more at peace and have been really effective. Thanks be to God! I will continue to pray for those I love, the souls or purgatory, the world and for myself! God Bless!

Title: Saved my Life

Review: I'm a Protestant who got in over her head. I had watched the documentary e-motion 2.0 on Amazon Prime. Amazing documentary and it really spoke to me. From there, I looked up the Emotion Code. I thought it was a great book and I started using the method to help some of my family and closest friends. It all came so easily to me and I just knew I had found my calling. What I didn't realize was that everytime that I was surrogate or proxy for someone using that method, I was picking up their curses, their spirit connections and who knows what else. I had been working with someone who eventually passed on. I had no idea just how many problems he had because he had never been completely honest about all of them. I feel that when he passed on, the spirits that had been plaguing him turned to me because of the connection the Emotion Code had created.

I came to a mental/physical/spiritual crisis. It seemed that my prayers weren't working...I lost my faith in my prayers. It's really horrifying to look back on those days. I started trying to find a priest to do some kind of exorcism on me because something had to change and had to change quickly. It's actually very hard to find a priest to do an exorcism. Did you know you can't find one by using Google?? But I did come across this book. I down-loaded it onto my Kindle and immediately started using them that evening. During the night I awoke feeling more myself. (which is saying ALOT) The next day was rough but I continued to say many of the prayers in this book. By the end of that day, I felt back to normal.

However, what I did using the Emotion Code was apparently against the rules. Nearly two months later, I'll be doing fine and suddenly be really cranky or intolerant. I muscle test and usually, there is another curse that needs to be removed. I do believe that a lot of the Emotion Code is correct...that we have layers of emotions like an onion and you have to keep peeling back layers to get to the core. When I picked up other's curses, it was like they burrowed down into many layers and it's not until the top layers are removed that that particular curse can be removed. I'm hoping that soon all the curses I picked up will be removed and broken...but this was a lesson I learned VERY, VERY well and will never repeat that mistake.

I was really amazed that this book has prayers to remove curses and generational spirits and things that my family had been dealing with for a very long time. I hadn't believed in curses until about a year and a half ago..but I am a believer now and this book is truly a life saver! I have read many reviews of this book...some of the reviews some might even scoff at if they have never gone through any of this. Before all this happened, I might have scoffed at this review. But y'all, this stuff is real and scary. And for whatever reason, sometimes heart-felt prayer isn't enough. You have to have the right words to say. I don't understand it, but it's true. I'm a strong person, but what I went through for that short while before finding this book....I couldn't have continued to live that way. If you are struggling and prayers don't seem to be working, please get this book!!!! Maybe God has led you to it...as I feel He led me to it. I am so sad for my fellow Protestants. We aren't taught the rules or just how serious a lot of this is. Don't hesitate because it's a Catholic book. IT REALLY WORKS!

Review: I’m a Protestant raised Catholic who had a sincere doubt of whether prayers to the virgin and the saints would work. While I tried them my mood dropped. I inquired of the Holy Spirit as I hear from Him. He said to pray just to Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit. As soon as I started doing that again, my mood improved. My prayers were answered instantly. While confused my prayers lacked strength. I would say it’s a good book in general. It had good ideas for prayers. Just change the name Mary and Saints for Holy Spirit and you can still command angels to help you in Jesus’ name
