THERE WAS A HERO-

COLONEL CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU

History was the greatest avenue of reading among several years of time, as we are setted to a flashback of what happened in 1967.

Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu was a great Man who was the Son of a successful Igbo business Man who was regarded as one of the richest Man during those days and Ojukwu had just graduated from the University of Oxford in 1995, and had returned to Nigeria to serve as an administrative officer.

History was one of his best books that he found himself reading to the extent that he given powerful quotes concerning History, Biafra and Revolution and they are;

1.."The History Of The World Is A Chronicles Of Oppression."

2."Since Oppression Is Maintained By Force, It Is Only Possible To Remove That Oppression By A Counterforce."

3."The Illegal Regime In Lagos Under Gowon Has Accused Biafra Of Playing Politics With Her People's Misery. Our Answer Is Simple: We Are Not Masochists; Rather, We Are People Who Choose To Hunger A Little To Remain Alive Instead Of Feeding On Fat To Become Respectable Corpses".

4."We Do Not Ask For Pity. We Make No Apologies For The Social Phenomenon Known As The Biafran Revolution; Rather, We Proclaim With Pride The Inevitability Of Our People And The Assured Finality Of Our Success."

5."Biafra Is A Child Of Circumstance. His Existence And Survival Are Always A Marvel, Sometimes Bordering On A Miracle. His Life Is A Tribute To Man, his courage is his Endurance, His Ingenuity Is His Humanity."

6."For Unity To Be Meaningful It Has To Be Creative, Not The Unity Of Jonah In The Whale But The Unity Of Holy Matrimony. The First Can Only Lead To Defecation, The Second To Procreation."

7."If A Leader Accepts Himself As Already Dead To Society, There Will Be No Reason For Cowardice In His Leadership. One Thing That Frightens Leaders And Leads Them To A Number Of Excesses Is Usually Fear Of Death. No Leader Should Fear Death. In Fact, You Should Accept The Fact That From The Moment Of Leadership You Are Sacrificed To Death. You Are Sacrificed To Death. Each Subsequent Day Becomes A Bonus For The Preparation Of One's Memorials"

8. "What I Have Become In This Struggle Is The Mouthpiece Of My People. I Go Where They Push And No More. The Day I Think Otherwise, The Day I Act Otherwise, The Day My People, Without Compromising The Struggle, Will Find Another Person To Express Their Aspirations".

9. "We Are Humans. We Live, We Fight, Fight Because The Decision To Be Free Is A Decision Taken Freely And Collectively, Because To Become Involved In Violent Struggle For Freedom Is The Only Honor Left To An Oppresed People Threatened With The Genocide, Because In The Final Analysis The Only True Bulwark Against Death Is Live. Biafra Rejects Death, Biafra Lives''.

He had fought for his avenue of Freedom over Slavery of the Nigerian Civil War. His Father on the other hand, had wanted him to become in charge of the Company but Ojukwu refused promoting the cause that he wasn't interested as he got recruited into the Army.

He served immensely as a Military Governor of the South-East as it could be seen that General Aguiyi-Ironsi who was a Nigerian Military Officer was the First Military Head Of State Of Nigeria who had seized Powers during the ensuing chaos after the 15th January 1966 Military Coup, which decapitated the Country's leadership.

After the death of General Aguiyi-Ironsi who was assassinated for not taking part and accurate purpose of the offenders who were involved in the first Military Coup on 15th January 1966 led by Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu and Emmanuel Ifeajuna who had killed 22 people including the Prime Minister Of Nigeria, many Senior Politicians, many Senior Army Officers and their Wives and sentinels on protective duty. Gowon replaced him as Ojukwu was angry because of this including the opined fact of how some of the Igbos were killed in the North.

This resulted in a meeting called the Aburi Accord which took place in Ghana on January 4th and 5th which was organized by the Ghana President.

Ojukwu maintained a strong notion of cause vividly saying that he was interested only in the peaceful existence of his people and as such the other several Military Officers should be on their own terms of duty. The Ghana President agreed to Ojukwu's pleadings but Gowon persisted saying that such could not be done for in the Military that was not how the rule was applied to be. Ojukwu still maintained on his ground saying that it was not possible and as Gowon persisted to his terms of agreement. Ojukwu said "On Aburi, I Stand", and this brought about the Biafran War.

Ojukwu promoted a great cause by fighting with his Father's wealth as him and other technicians of the Biafran Soldiers constructed a bucket bomb called "Ogbunigwe" which was made of weapons systems Including command detonation mines, improvised explosive devices and rocket-propelled missiles, mass-produced by the Republic of Biafra. This weapon was used to kill thousands and millions of the Nigerian Soldiers as Ojukwu promoted a cause of victory. Despite Ojukwu's death on 26th November 2011, after a brief illness aged 78 he could still be remembered as a great hero he was, as no one in Nigeria had really been able to build the bucket bomb up till today.

OJUKWU'S IMPACT IN THE BIAFRAN WAR

1.He introduced the Biafran weapon which killed many Nigerian Soldiers and is enlisted to be one of the powerful weapons so far, for no Country has been able to build it till today to talkless of Nigeria.

2. He introduced a notion that he was fighting for the Freedom of his people who had been in Slavery.

3. He made Biafra to become a child fighting for the loss of the evil minders of an unworldly earth

4. He equipped many Biafran Soldiers introducing them on the notions of them to stand on their grounds and not believing in Betrayal, Jealousy and Wickedness

5. He administered Gowon to be a leader who had accused Biafra of playing Politics over the Freedom of their Self-belief
