You Will Adore Everest Base Camp Trek

You will adore the Everest Base Camp Trekking Trail if you enjoy taking adventures and visiting stunning alpine locations. Everyone can have a lifetime recollection of experiencing the Everest Himalayas and the Sherpa culture. During the peak hiking seasons, there are hundreds of adventurers on this trail every day, so you can also make plans to visit here in the fall of 2023. There are two main hiking seasons from Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp: autumn and spring.

From Kathmandu to Kathmandu, a 12-day walking journey to Everest Base Camp begins with a brief scenic flight to Lukla. You begin your journey toward Phakding after landing at Lukla Airport by passing through the traditional Sherpa settlements of Chheplung, Thadokoshi, and Ghat. Along the route today, you'll see beautiful scenery, river valleys, lush woods, snow-capped mountains, monasteries, and other Buddhist structures. The distance between Lukla and Phakding is only a short distance by foot, and all trails except for a few brief ascents are downward.

After spending the first night in Phakding, you hike to Namche Bazaar the following day and spend the following night there. On the day of rest in Namche, you trek to Hotel Everest View to practice being at altitude, and on the fourth day, you go to Tengboche. After passing through Namche Bazaar, you are always treated to stunning mountain views.

Tengboche is situated on a hilltop and offers breathtaking panoramas of tall mountains. You can also go on tours of historic monasteries and participate in evening services with the monks. On the fifth day, you hike from Tengboche to Dingboche. You will soon be above the tree line and constantly have access to open views. On the sixth day, you'll have your second acclimatization break at Dingboche before hiking up to Nangkartshang Hill.

You hike to Lobuche on the seventh day after having taken the second altitude practice rest and being well acclimated. Before arriving at Lobuche, you will traverse Thukla and observe a number of climbers' graves. Following Lobuche, you go to Gorakshep, and then on your ninth day, you hike to Everest Base Camp. The base camp hike makes the day long; therefore, you will start walking from Lobuche earlier than on other trekking days.

On the ninth day, you climb for around two hours from Gorakshep to Kala Pathar in the early morning. After that, you make the walk from Thukla and Lobuche to Pheriche. If you don't have enough time to trek back to Lukla or don't want to take the same trails you used to ascend, you can also take a helicopter directly from Gorakshep to Kathmandu.

If you have two or three more days in addition to the standard Base Camp Trekking schedule, you can also cross Cho La Pass to travel to Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri. After Pheriche, you take a tenth-day walk back to Namche Bazaar and an eleventh-day hike to Lukla, where you spend the night before your trip there. On the twelfth morning, you take a flight to Kathmandu or Ramechhap and return to the city having conquered Everest.
