I have been seeing photos of Doja Cat's recent song titled "Demons" which has been drawing speculation in the music industry and this is my response.
We can all testify to the impact of music on our indigenous lives. Music has been used in different areas including health. But the type of songs we listen to influences our actions and behaviors. Have you been moody while listening to a song or have you realized that you're having a mood swing? This demonstrates the psychological influence of music in our lives.
I was a huge Beyonce fan before giving my life to Christ and I have to testify to the fact that it almost lured me into immorality. Do you know that 80% of secular International artists are in support of the LGBTQ+ community? Currently, there is an ongoing tour by Beyonce which she calls, the "Rennaisance World Tour" in which she has grossed $540 million as of June, and it is against Christendom because 90% of the attendees of her concerts are queer community members.
Music cannot be complete without a lyric unless you're a beatmaker or anything related to that. The devil will not rest until he has poisoned the minds of Christians into singing songs that are against the Christian doctrine. Check out these lyrics from your favorite artists:
"I saw the devil
I grew thickened skin on my feet
I bathed in bleach
And plugged my menses with the pages from the holy book" (Beyonce Hold Up poem)
"We are enemies, we are foes
Who are you and what are those?
You are gross
Percocet got you playing with your nose
Yeah, any
How my demons look"(Doja Cat Demons lyrics)
"Cause tonight I'm making deals with the devil
And I know it's gonna get me in trouble
Just as long as you know you got me"(Ariana Grande side-to-side lyrics)
There are many dark artists aside from these three whose aim is to influence the lives of people who are interested in joining the dark activities of the music industry.
It is sad to realize that most of the categories of people that make up a good number of listeners of these artists are Gen Z. The songs you listen to shape your perception and the way you think. No matter your race, ethnicity, age, or gender, music is a common phenomenon that impacts everyone. Music can be a powerful tool with its ability to evoke strong emotional responses. For example, music may lead to the release of dopamine, a feel-good neurotransmitter. Music is present in everyday life for people. https://www.tmh.org/healthy-living/blogs/healthy-living/how-music-affects-your-mind-mood-and-body
Finally, Ephesians 6:12 MEV
For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. What you listen to reflects your character and attitude. It is our responsibility to advance God's kingdom, and not partakers in going against the Christian doctrines.
