Coding and robotics help children learn STEM concepts in an environment that is engaging and much more hands-on. It’s a tool for children to learn to think and do things outside the box. Coding and robotics are two branches of science often used interchangeably, but children may lean more toward one or the other.
Getting started with coding and robotics:
If your child is keen on getting stuck with coding and robotics, you don’t need to overthink it! If the school doesn’t offer robotics and coding already, here are some things you can consider:
Getting a starter kit that your child is interested in is a great way to get them involved and engaged in robotics.
Sign them up for robotics or coding boot camps or holiday programs.
Find a robotics or coding club that your child can join for after-school engagement.
Download coding apps for older kids (this is great to substitute with TV time).
Encourage them to make arts and crafts by building things.
Play educational games to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
At Twinkl, you’ll find amazing activities and resources to help children get the hang of coding and robotics! You can also have a look at our blog for even more!
