Let the moonlight be my guide,
As day by day I walk on.
Small steps like a child
I salvage and onward to tomorrow.
The carpet of today rolled up,
Turned and not to be walked on again.
Shall I worry about yesterday?
Or perhaps seek to change my past?
Surely not, for as I stagger
My grip becomes even stronger.
Cowering around for fear of what might go wrong.
I stand up and life feels my weight.
Waking up each day.
One regret after another.
Yet not afraid, I take even more steps
Knowing the sun shines even in winter.
What have I done with my life?
All but worthless and vain.
Yet like a bird soaked in the rain,
I hope to take flight one day.
