YEP RETURN TRAINING
The Young Experts (WaterWorX batch 3) selected from various countries around the world were fortunate to participate in this return training, and each had unique skills and experiences to bring to the table.
The first week was spent in Nairobi, the capital city, and was dedicated to professional development. We discussed and learned about personal development trajectories, putting our strengths to work (strengths finder), understanding team dynamics, and intercultural communication. Moreover, the trainers emphasized the importance of presentation with power, non-violent communication, and excelling in a multicultural environment.
 
Apart from the professional training, we also had some time to explore Kenya's geography and culture. Amidst the magnificent savanna and untamed wildlife, we visited a nearby safari, where we came across some of the most spectacular animals we had ever seen and also experienced the Masai culture, which was an unforgettable experience.
 
Robust and enthusiastic, we proceeded to Mombasa during the second week, where the training focused on topics such as leadership, training the trainer, and presentations with impact.
 
To practice the new-found skills and acquired knowledge, we were asked to collaborate and work in groups on presentations and workshops during the "kick-out program," to be presented in front of young experts, after which feedback was given.

The days flew by, filled with fun activities such as exploring Mombasa’s coastal area. At the end of the two weeks, the young experts were grateful for the opportunity they had been given. We thanked the Young Experts Program bureau manager for spending time with them and expressed appreciation to all the project managers and to the training coordinator who had made the training possible.

The young experts had an unforgettable experience in Kenya, combining professional learning and team-building activities with incredible sight-seeing. We took home with us an enriched knowledge base and lifelong friendships with each other and our supportive trainers.
