She left with a bag with little clothes inside and by the time she returned she had furniture and a baby. She bought a yard, four female cows and calves. She worked the land. Within a short space of time, her kraal was full. She started to sell cows to the local market whenever her kraal was full. Then she erected a two-room shop. Every Monday she would cross the border to south Africa to buy some stuff to sell. Now as I speak, she is the wealthiest woman in Maskota, she was named after the town, and she owns it. And then she started to sing hymns and she quoted psalms 24. She came close to me and hugged me and whispered something into my ears, she said,” Maskota said to tell you that you changed her life”

The mc interjected, he took over and started welcoming people from different towns who had come a long to pay their final to my father. He introduced priest and other very important people so on and so forth and he started to accelerate the program. Those who knew him stood up and said some things about him, all good things. It was as if he had never lived his life. He was clean in the eyes of his peers.
When I was ten years old, my father started to teach me how to fix car, by the time I was eleven years old, I could fix almost all the models in our vicinity. He taught me how to build houses. And now am fourteen years old, in grade ten, a motor mechanic, a builder. I was promoted twice at school because of my maths and science acumen. My aunt called me into my father’s room where his coffin was. She told me to say my final goodbyes.
I stood there, looking at him, not knowing what to say to him Afterall he was dead. I took my wristwatch and put it around his wrist, and I said, ’Papa, shit happens’ and I kissed him on his forehead, and I left the room. His peers came to fetch his coffin to the hearse and then to the cemetery. And when his coffin was lowered into the foundations of the earth, I shed a tear. I stopped myself from weeping like a child and after everything was said and done, we left the grave side. And we left, I felt a hand touching my wrist and my wristwatch was back with me. One moment it was in the coffin with my father and the next it was back with me. I had a strange feeling. It was as if my father was telling me that I was still young or I had all the time in the world to develop myself or make my own mistake and maybe he was telling me that time belonged to the living.e has got two other kids.
